Time for a New Change

Hey y'all,

Most people think that I'm pretty smart. Honestly, I sometimes question their judgement. What does it take for a person to change? Most of the epiphanies' in my life happen throughout tragedy. Simply put, I can't remove myself from a bad situation until I hit rock bottom. But, at what point do I say no to a situation before it gets to that boiling point? Meaning, there are a lot of situations that I can foresee the issues, yet; I keep myself in these situations KNOWING that no good can come from them? HOW DO I STOP THE MADNESS?

Am I the only one with this problem?

I haven't gotten much into new year's resolutions because I believe that we outta be accountable for change at the time that we realize change is needed, and that's pretty much year round. If we wait until the beginning of a new year to adapt change, we'll watch our whole lives pass us by, as another year is not promised. That being said, TODAY'S resolution is simple: Foresee change and avoid it. I need your prayers.......

Your thoughts?

Happy New Year cousin.

You are a smart young lady. When you make bad decisions it doesn't take away from your overall being.

Everyone make bad decision, but we only learn from the ones that we make. You are your life lesson and in order to grow, you're gonna fall, hit your head, stomp your toe so on and so forth.

You have to keep God in your life, have faith and continue to pray for guidance - then you wait on him. Fixing our own problems without God's help only make things worse.

We just have to pray that we won't be repeat offenders. If you (we) see that we are going down the same wrong path, we need to stop - ask for directions and make a complete YOU turn.

Now if you continue to do the same things over and over again, then yes there is something wrong. BUT if the opportunity to know that you keep messing up, then you need to stop what you're doing. STOP IT GIRL!!!

Mistakes are going to happen, we just need to recognize what we do and say we're not going to do them anymore. It's just like being in the same kind of abusive relationship. The signs are there, but we're still drawn to the same kind of man or over and over again, we just have to say no.

Stoppin the maddness has to start with rather or not we want to continue to go down that raggidy road over and over again...or whether we want to ride the smooth one, with occassional bumps!

At first I thought this was a tough issue, but now I'm not so sure. The Bible is clear in its call for us to be agents of change. In fact our very walk with Christ is determined by how much we change our hearts and minds in conforming to His. "Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus." (Philipians 2:5). I don't think we would've been given such a charge unless God blessed us with the ability and the wherewithal to do just that.

Most of the things we accomplish in life (jobs, education, finances, etc.) are a bi-product of our abilities and our determination. But when it comes to matters of spiritual development and growth, we've already been given the ability to do. What makes us so dope in God's eyes is that while animals rely solely on instinct as their functional mechanism, we've been equipped with intellect as well. I mean, even you said that you seem to know what's good and bad for you. The only condition is that we have to WANT to grow and develop.

I don't think that we'll ever accomplish successful change in Christ until we decide FOR OURSELVES to use the resources God gave us so that we can make those moves. The way I see it is simple: if God has blessed us with the tools to change, but we don't change, WE'RE accountable. Frankly, having God mad at me for wasting His gifts is not somethin' I'm particularly interested in. I'm just sayin...
