Oh, so there IS such a thing as burning out......
Man, who knew that being an adult was so hard? I recently got a new car (Thank you Jesus!!!) and immediately following my purchase, we received overtime at my job. Overtime at my job is like a rare and precious jewel that only comes around maybe once a year, so when it comes around most people, like myself, jump at the opportunity.
So with a brand new car note at the forefront of my mind, I've been working OT everyday, six days a week, for the past three weeks.
Today, my body litterally gave up on me.
Today, I'm not even able to answer even the most simplest of questions, and I feel nauseous.
Today, I learned a lesson: There is a such thing as burning out...
So tomorrow, my cell phone will be off the entire day, and I'm going to get some much needed R&R.
Now if I can just make it through the next two hours.....

Hey girl. I feel your pain on the OT. Most people say "take it, cause it may not be available anytime soon" which is almost true. I have worked OT for the past 15 years, and I am tired.
I think I have gotten used to working so many extra hours that if I stop, I wouldn't know what to do with myself. But you know what, whenever I get the opportunity to go home and rest I do.
A new car - house and or other responsibilities will sometimes force us to work OT or take on a part time job - thats okay, but never let the extra $$ become your main focus.
You know a lot of times whe I get the chance to go home in 8 hours, I try to catch up on things that I missed out on or work on little things around the house that need to be taken care of.
Whatever you do, don't over do it. Your body will let you know "I anit doing this anymore" then all you can do is sit there and look like you have a mental problem.
Now here I go...If OT is only avaiable once in a while and you can work/handle it, take advantage of it, but don't get like so many of us - dependent on the OT. Enjoy the time you have off, if its only to sleep, taking a drive, going to the park and watch the leaves change or go somewhere special - Do it. After a while it will be okay, just remember that your health is more important than a couple extra $$.

Hey there Joslyn,
I agree with cousin Lisa, work all the overtime you can, because it can definitly run dry in the blink of an eye.
Consider it one of Gods most awesome blessings because it sounds like it was right on time with the new car and all.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Continue to thank Him for all He has done and has yet to do. God promised to supply us with all our needs according to His riches! AMEN!!
Sometime not realizing what we are doing, we can get caught up in material things, until we forget that Promise.
ALL OUR NEEDS!
And what God has for you, it's for you, and you won't have to work like a slave to get it.
God recognizes our efforts and the intentions within our heart.
And He blesses us for that.
By believing that promise
"ALL OUR NEEDS"
we are taking God at His word and putting all our trust in Him..Then not intentionally, we jepardize our health both physically and mentally by working all this overtime.
The body gets tired and worn, you start to feel like not going to church and other things that we use to do that gives God the Glory!
The devil is slick..WATCH OUT!
Gods promise..ALL OUR NEEDS!
So what am I saying, work all the overtime you want, but don't allow it to hinder your health and most of all your ability to give God your best, and not the left overs.
For some reason I knew that previous comment was from Cousin Lisa before I even got to the end and saw the name! LOL!
Be Blessed,
Cousin Ann
